Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and influencer-actor Akriti Agarwal have ended their engagement around six months after announcing the milestone. Akriti confirmed their separation through an emotional Instagram post, saying the decision was mutual and followed differences in their future goals and circumstances.

In her statement, Akriti said that although the couple continued to care for each other, they had accepted that their paths were no longer meant to be together. She also wished Shaw well for the future and requested people to respect their privacy instead of speculating about the reasons behind their decision.

“With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future. As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together,” Akriti wrote.

She added that their responsibilities and current circumstances had contributed to the decision to go their separate ways. Akriti concluded her message by asking fans and followers not to make assumptions about their personal situation. Neither Akriti nor Shaw has publicly provided further details about the separation.

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti announced their engagement on March 8, 2026. Their relationship had attracted considerable attention on social media, while a cryptic post shared by Akriti in July had also triggered speculation about their relationship. However, she had not named Shaw in that post, and her latest statement is the first clear confirmation that the engagement has ended.

On the cricketing front, Shaw remains focused on rebuilding his domestic career. The right-handed batter was included in West Zone’s squad for the 2026-27 Duleep Trophy after a productive Ranji Trophy campaign for Maharashtra. The BCCI’s official squad announcement lists Shaw among West Zone’s players for the tournament.

Shaw has not played international cricket for India since 2021. His last appearances came across formats that year, and he has since been attempting to regain consistency in domestic cricket.
