Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has reacted to a series of viral videos involving Pakistan cricketers, including unusual warm-up exercises performed by members of the Pakistan women’s team. Chopra’s comments have added another layer to the social media discussion, as fans continued to debate the training methods shown in the clips. A recent video featuring four Pakistan women cricketers performing a group exercise attracted considerable attention online.
The players formed an interlocking human chain and moved together in a rolling, wheel-like formation. The unusual drill quickly became a talking point among cricket fans on social media. The video also reminded Chopra of an earlier viral clip involving Pakistan batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. The two were previously seen performing exaggerated stretching movements during a warm-up session, including wide stances and coordinated arm and lower-body movements.
Chopra suggested that the players were likely following instructions from their fitness staff, but felt that such activities could easily become a source of online jokes when performed in front of cameras.

“Whether we do something or not, you keep giving us content. And you keep giving us a chance to laugh. I have to feel for the players. But when the matter ends, you must have learned something. The world is watching. It’s a shame. Don’t do this,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
Reacting specifically to the women’s team video, Chopra questioned the purpose of the exercise and compared Pakistan’s approach with the rapid progress being made in other fields. “What kind of exercise is this?” Chopra asked, before describing the drill as “nonsense”. He then used India’s space missions as a humorous comparison while discussing the training clip. “Duniya chaand par pahunch rahi hai. Duniya Mars par pahunch rahi hai, lekin aap wahin ke wahin atke hue hain,” Chopra said.
Chopra also turned his attention to the ongoing controversy surrounding Mohammad Rizwan. The Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter has been questioned by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) as part of an inquiry involving alleged financial transactions, online betting and gambling-related matters, as well as reported concerns over dressing-room information.
Rizwan challenged the NCCIA proceedings in the Lahore High Court, questioning the agency’s jurisdiction and the basis of the inquiry. The court ultimately allowed the investigation to continue while directing Rizwan to cooperate and instructing the agency to act according to the law and not harass him.

The controversy has also involved Imam-ul-Haq, who was questioned alongside Rizwan. The NCCIA has reportedly examined information from the players’ mobile phones as part of its investigation. Chopra questioned why the focus had shifted so heavily towards Rizwan while Imam’s involvement appeared less prominent in the public discussion.
“Rizwan is all over the news; in which he fixed the match, he did corruption. Imam-ul-Haq was also in the same boat, but suddenly he disappeared. There is only focus on Rizwan,” Aakash Chopra said. However, the allegations remain part of an ongoing investigation, and no finding of wrongdoing has been established by the court in relation to Rizwan. The Lahore High Court’s September ruling specifically allowed the NCCIA inquiry to proceed and directed the cricketer to cooperate with the agency.
