India’s U-19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre shared being focused on his future dreams. The youngster recently appeared on a podcast with former India cricketer Aakash Chopra. After the fame from playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL and leading the U-19 side to win at the 2026 World Cup, Mhatre said that he stays away from social media. He shared that his dream is to win the 50-over World Cup with the senior men’s national team and to win several matches for the country as well.

“I have given my Instagram account to my cousin. I do not use it a lot. If there is some important message, then he shows it to me and tells me to reply. There is always pressure because if people are expecting from me, I know there is something good in me. My dream is to win the World Cup, obviously and play for a long time for India and win games,” he said.

Ayush Mhatre scored his maiden first-class hundred in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season while playing for Mumbai against Maharashtra as well. He also recalled how it was a life-changing moment for him to score a massive century with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, and Ajinkya Rahane as his teammates as well.

“That was life-changing. It is a reputed team. Everyone was in the team when I made that hundred. Shreyas, Surya, Shardul, Rahane. It was my first first-class hundred and it boosted my confidence a lot. It is very memorable for me,” he concluded.
