Former India player Wasim Jaffer feels Team India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi cannot be a one-dimensional bowler in T20 cricket. He also urged the spinner to add more variations to his arsenal. Bishnoi proved to be expensive in India’s 19-run win over Pakistan in the Asian Games 2026 final on Saturday as well. He remained wicketless and gave away 44 runs from three overs.

Assessing Bishnoi’s performances, Jaffer said in his YouTube video: “I don’t think his performances were that bad before this. He played against Afghanistan and got consistent matches. The team management is trusting him. But I thought it was a very ordinary performance today. He is one-dimensional and predictable. He needs to bring in some variety and variation.”

Wasim Jaffer said that Ravi Bishnoi tends to bowl faster after being hit. He also added that the bowling coach should ensure that the spinner slows things down to break the batter’s momentum as well.

“He tries bowling faster after being hit. That goes against him, as the batter doesn’t have to do much when there is pace. He should take some time and look to break the batter’s rhythm. The bowling coach needs to make him understand that he should not be in a hurry to bowl,” he concluded.
