Former Indian player turned commentator Mohammad Kaif slammed Indian captain Shreyas Iyer and Indian bowlers for their poor performance in the fourth T20I against the West Indies. With a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series, India had the chance to seal the deal after winning the toss and bowling first. However, the Indian bowlers struggled with the ball
throughout the innings as the visitors scored 247/3 in 20 overs.

Talking about India’s overall bowling, Kaif said in the mid-innings break on Cricbuzz, “The Indian bowling unit aren’t even able to do the basics right. This entire series, even in the ODIs, they’ve struggled to complete their overs on time. The fielding hasn’t helped this inexperienced bowling attack. So India lacked in every aspect on the field, which is how you concede nearly 250.”

“India’s bowling plans were poor for this surface. In Hyderabad, the slow bouncer is the most effective delivery. Think of how many batters Pat Cummins dismissed using the square boundaries with that delivery. India missed a trick by not using the slower bouncer,” he again shared.

Mohammad Kaif also believes Team India should be concerned about their bowling even if they win the ongoing fourth T20I against the West Indies. India allowed the visitors to chase down 250 in the second game of the series also. They also gave away 209 in the third T20I despite the 14-run win as well.
“Even if India wins this match, they can’t be happy. Because none of their problems have been rectified, be it bowling, catching or bowling on time. And the West Indies is a lower-ranked team. This is not Australia or England with great players smashing India. Indian fans will be worried about the bowling,” Mohammad Kaif concluded.
