Former Indian player Kris Srikkanth slammed Team India for their poor performance in the drawn home T20I series against the West Indies. The five-match series ended at 2-2 despite India being massive favourites against the lowly-ranked Caribbean side. After winning the series opener convincingly, India suffered a shocking loss, failing to defend 249 in the second T20I. Despite taking control with a 14-run win in the third T20I, India again lost in the penultimate T20I, losing by 24 runs as well.

Talking about the overall India-West Indies T20I series, Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, Cheeky Cheeka, “It is disappointing that India finished level with a dismal West Indies side and almost lost the series. West Indies has batting firepower, but their bowling is terrible. India allowed nobodies like Springer to take wickets. But the Indian bowling is a big question mark. It’s also an injustice to play on these 250 tracks. Some help has to be there for the bowlers. It’s becoming so bat-dominated that it’s boring to watch the matches.”

Kris Srikkanth also believes that veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar not bowling in the final T20I against the West Indies was a blessing in disguise as well.

“In a way, it was a blessing in disguise that Bhuvneshwar Kumar didn’t bowl in the final T20I against the West Indies. Because the ideal conditions for Bhuvneshwar to make a comeback will be in New Zealand. In New Zealand, we won’t see such high scores,” said Srikkanth.
