Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin shared his thoughts on veteran India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s comeback. He also featured in the first T20I of the New Zealand series in Christchurch. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned to international cricket after four years, did not make a strong comeback, returning figures of 0/49 from four overs. While he showed glimpses of his trademark swing in the first over, he lost momentum after bowling a no-ball as well.

“It was not as good as it could have been. But I don’t think his bowling was really bad. He was on the money in the first eight to nine balls. I think it changed after that no-ball. That changed the momentum. But maybe expectations are more on him. It is too early to judge. There was a lot of dew as well. People are very quick to judge. We need to be a bit patient and give him some time,” he said on ‘Ash ki Baat’.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin also shared that fans’ frustration with teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continuing to sit out. However, he shared that Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson must be valued for the way they have been playing as well.

“Vaibhav is not getting to play, and people are frustrated. I know he is an exceptional talent. But the way Abhishek and Samson are batting, we have to value them. Vaibhav’s time will come. But till these guys are playing, we need to enjoy it. Just see how they are batting. We have to appreciate them,” he concluded.
