Former India captain MS Dhoni recently caught the attention of fans after making a masked appearance at Bengaluru airport. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter was spotted walking through the airport premises under heavy security, with his face covered by a black mask. Dhoni opted for a simple, casual look, wearing blue jeans and a white polo T-shirt. He also carried a backpack over his shoulder as he made his way through the airport. A video of the former India skipper’s appearance has since drawn attention from cricket fans.

Dhoni’s Bengaluru airport appearance came just days after he attended Navratri celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The 45-year-old cricketer enjoyed the festivities with his wife, Sakshi Dhoni, at the Ambani family’s Navratri Mela, organised at the Reliance Greens township.
While MS Dhoni continues to attract attention away from the cricket field, his future in the Indian Premier League (IPL) remains a subject of interest. The former India captain has yet to make an official announcement regarding his IPL future. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) retained Dhoni for ₹4 crore as an uncapped player ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, following the introduction of revised retention rules.

During IPL 2025, Dhoni took over as CSK’s interim captain after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an elbow injury. However, Dhoni did not feature in any matches during the 2026 season due to calf and finger injuries. Meanwhile, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh recently reflected on Dhoni’s appointment as India captain at a relatively young age ahead of the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

Speaking on Prakhar Gupta’s YouTube podcast, Harbhajan explained that the senior players accepted the decision and did not have concerns about Dhoni’s age. He also highlighted the former captain’s ability to bring out the best in his teammates.
“Dhoni took the team forward from where Ganguly left it because he never tried to impose his leadership style. Dhoni only focused on how to get the best out of the players, which he was exceptional at,” Harbhajan Singh said.

He added that the players understood that a captain’s success depended on the collective performance of the team rather than individual leadership alone.
Dhoni’s captaincy subsequently brought India three major ICC white-ball titles: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, and remains the only captain to have won all three of those ICC trophies.
