Former Team India captain Kris Srikkanth slammed New Zealand pace bowler Lockie Ferguson for his poor show in the first two T20Is in Christchurch. He conceded 37 runs in three wicketless overs as India chased 181 in the second T20I. Ferguson was equally disappointing in the series opener, giving away 34 runs off three overs with only one wicket as well.

Talking about this, Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, Cheeky Cheeka, “Lockie Ferguson is there just to help India. He only feeds runs. He runs in fast and bowls, but the ball travels even faster. You’ve played for so long, do you think anyone fears your pace? Nobody fears your pace. The Indians smashed him in his first over itself. He is the one who finishes New Zealand.”

Kris Srikkanth also called the New Zealand bowling attack toothless except for their spinners, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell. They combined for excellent figures of 4/56 in eight overs in the second T20I as well. However, the pace bowlers gave away runs in plenty, as in the series opener, leaving New Zealand in a 0-2 hole as well.

“They don’t have a deadly bowling attack at all, except Mitchell Santner, who is probably the best spinner in the world today. Michael Bracewell is decent, but the rest are very ordinary. The Indians have decided to play New Zealand’s two spinners normally and then smash the other bowlers. India’s batting lineup also intimidates bowlers,” concluded Kris Srikkanth.
