During the 19th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at Bengaluru, Delhi Daredevils’ Trent Boult took an out of the ordinary catch at the deep square leg boundary to send back Virat Kohli to the pavilion.

After Virat Kohli sent the Daredevils in to bat, the visitors scored 174-5 on the back of Rishabh Pant’s fourth IPL half-century in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore did not start their chase in the best possible way as they lost Manan Vohra (2) in the second over.

After Quinton de Kock (18) was dismissed in a terrible judge of a run, the onus had shifted on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to steer the chase. Kohli, who dropped down the oder at No. 3, was batting well before Boult came up with a nearly impossible grab at the boundary.

It happened on the final delivery of the 11th over when Kohli hit a Harshal Patel full-toss towards the deep dquare leg fielder. Set to go for a six, Boult came in between the ball the boundary. He grabbed a one-handed catch whilst on his wrong foot. If grabbing the catch wasn’t enough, he controlled his balance to perfection in a bid to not touch the boundary rope. What is worth mentioning is that all this had happened at a lightning fast rate.

Kohli ended up scoring 30 (26) with the help of two fours and a six.
