Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of those batsmen who can change the course of the match on his own. Since his first steps in international cricket, Virat has broken a plethora of records and that was the reason he is known as run-machine. Most of the cricket fans believe that he has the capability to break the record that Sachin Tendulkar held for most ODI centuries.  and at the age of 28; he still has so much to offer.

Indian skipper is just in his late twenties and he has so much to offer in world cricket. In past year or so, he has been in form of his life, as recently he broke the record of Sir Don Bradman of scoring double centuries in three consecutive Test series, Virat did it in four successive series.

1. Most runs in T20Is:

Kohli has a phenomenal ability to play all the three formats of the game ability to play and that too by acing his batting in all the formats. all formats of the game and he is also a master of the T20 format. In 48 T20Is, Virat has scored as many as 1709 runs. He will be eyeing to break the record of former kiwi opener Brendon McCullum, who has amassed 2140 runs under his belt. With his average above 50 in International T20s, Kohli will soon be breaking that record too.

2. Maximum centuries in ODIs:

Currently, Kohli has scored as many as 27 centuries in ODI cricket and his journey is not even half done. batting legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most centuries with 49, but Virat is the prime contestant who can break that record and go past him. As long as an Indian break that record, Sachin would not mind that.

Kohli has played 179 ODIs at an average of 53.11 which is way better than Sachin’s career batting average of 44.83.

3. Kohli can earn most no. of Man of the Match awards:

Needless to say, Kohli is a proven match-winner and takes home most of the praises after matches. He could break Sachin’s record of 76 man of the match awards. He is currently having 36 awards but if he continues batting the way he does, he could easily surpass the legend’s record.

4. Most hundreds against a nation:

Virat has scored 11 hundreds against Australia, he could soon break the record of scoring most no. of centuries against a single nation. This record is also currently held by none other than Sachin Tendulkar, who has scored 20 centuries against the same opposition but Kohli might be breaking it in near future.

5. Most successful Indian Test captain:

After taking over the Test captaincy of the Indian team from MS Dhoni, Kohli went on to win 16 Tests and lost only 3 games as captain of the Test team. Dhoni holds the record of winning 27 Test matches but Virat can break it if they continue their good form in overseas conditions.
