In the 22nd match of IPL 2018, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) snatched a superb thrilling victory in the low-scoring game against the hosts Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) on Monday night.

After winning the toss, DD skipper Gautam Gambhir decided to field first. While KXIP put a total of 143/8 in 20 overs, DD was restricted on 139/8 at the end of 20-over as KXIP won by 4-run.

  • Youngest cricketer to open an IPL innings. The previous record holder was Rishabh Pant (DD) who had opened an IPL innings against Gujarat Lions at the age of 18 years and 212 days (at Rajkot on May 3, 2016).

iv) DD batsman Shreyas Iyer completed his half-century in 41 balls.

  • The second slowest IPL half-century for any DD batsman against KXIP. The record holder is Mahela Jayawardene who had completed an IPL half-century against KXIP in 48 balls at Delhi on May 15, 2012.

v) No.4 DD batsman Shreyas Iyer scored 57 runs.

  • The second highest individual IPL knock by a non-opening DD batsman against KXIP. The record is 69 runs by the no.3 batsman Dinesh Karthik at Delhi on May 19, 2014.
