During the 23rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Mumbai, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Shakib Al Hasan failed to bring his team out of trouble as he was involved in a mix-up.

Rohit Sharma, captain of Mumbai Indians, had won the toss and chose to field. The Indians fielded an unchanged playing eleven. On the other hand, the visitors made four changes to their playing eleven. Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Nabi, Sandeep Sharma and Basil Thampi were included in place of Ricky Bhui, Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Billy Stanlake.

Shakib was found short of the crease.

Sunrisers did not get off to the best of starts. Mitchell McClenaghan, who shared the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah, drew first blood for the Indians as he dismissed Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha in his first over. In the fifth over, Manish Pandey’s attempt to take on Hardik Pandya ended in him walking back to the pavilion.

What further dented the Sunrisers was the run-out of Shakib Al Hasan. It happened on the third ball of the sixth over when Williamson tapped a slower one from McClenaghan to short mid wicket. After initially showing interest in the single, Williamson refused to take the run. By then, Shakib Al Hasan was way down the pitch and stood no chance of reaching back. He ended up scoring 2 (4).
