Hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) claimed another remarkable victory in the low-scoring game as they beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) this time at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad).

After winning the toss, KXIP skipper Ravichandran Ashwin decided to field first. While SRH was restricted for 132/6 in 20 overs, KXIP was bowled out for just 119 runs in 19.2 overs. SRH won this low-scoring home game by 13 runs.

iii) SRH batsmen Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan put another important 49-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

  • Highest fifth-wicket IPL partnership for SRH against KXIP. The previous record was the unbroken 45-run partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Manish Pandey at Mohali on April 19, 2018.

 

iv) SRH scored 132/6 in 20 overs.

  • The second lowest IPL total for SRH against KXIP. The record is 121 (19.1 overs) at Sharjah on April 22, 2014.
  • The second lowest successfully defended IPL total for SRH at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad). The record is 126/6 against Pune Warriors India on April 5, 2013.

 

v) KXIP pacer Ankit Rajpoot had a brilliant bowling figure of 4-0-14-5.

  • First Indian uncapped player to claim a five-wicket haul in an IPL innings.
  • Best ever bowling figure by a KXIP bowler. The previous record was 4-0-25-5 by Dimitri Mascarenhas against Pune Warriors India at Mohali on April 12, 2012.
  • Best IPL bowling figure at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad). The previous record was 5/16 by James Faulkner (Rajasthan Royals) against SRH on May 17, 2013.
  • The second best IPL bowling figure by an Indian pacer. The best is 3-0-12-5 by Ishant Sharma (Deccan Chargers) against Kochi Tuskers Kerala at Kochi on April 27, 2011.

vi) KXIP opening batsmen KL Rahul and Chris Gayle put a superb 55-run partnership for the first wicket.

  • Highest opening partnership for KXIP against SRH. The previous record was 53-run partnership between these two (KL Rahul and Chris Gayle) at Mohali on April 19, 2018.

 

vii) SRH leg-spinner Rashid Khan had a bowling figure of 4-0-19-3.

  • Best IPL bowling figure by a SRH spinner against KXIP. The previous record was 2-0-13-2 by Bipul Sharma at Hyderabad on May 11, 2015.

(Special Note: Shakib Al Hasan also had a bowling figure of 3-0-18-2 in this game, which is the third best IPL bowling figure by a SRH spinner against KXIP)
