During the 28th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Jaipur, Sunrisers Hyderanad’s Kane Williamson hit 21 runs off a Jaydev Unadkat over to provide his team with a much-needed boost.
Williamson, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, won the toss and chose to bat. Hyderabad have finally handed an IPL debut to Alex Hales. He replaced Mohammad Nabi in the squad. On the other hand, the Royals included Mahipal Lomror and debutant Isha Sodhi in place of Heinrich Klaasen and Shreyas Gopal.
Williamson came in to bat in the third over after Shikhar Dhawan (6) was bowled by K Gowtham in his second over. Williamson took his time before breaking the shackles. In fact, it was Unadkat’s over in which he really come into his groove.
It happened in the 12th over of the innings, Unadkat’s second in the match. On the first ball of the over, Williamson paddled swept an Unadkat delivery past the wicket-keeper for a four. He followed it up by stepping out to hit a six over long off.
The following delivery saw Williamson slapping an Unadkat delivery for a four over extra cover. On the penultimate delivery of the over, Williamson edged a delivery which went for another boundary towards the third-man region. Watch the full video:
