In the recently concluded meeting of Pakistan Cricket Board, the board decided that the Pakistani cricketers can only play only two Foreign leagues except for the Pakistan Premier League (PSL). Such a decision was taken keeping in mind the fitness regime and also the fatigue factor of players throughout the year. HeadCoach Mickey Arthur is also requested to keep a close watch on individual player fitness from now on.
The meeting was conducted by PCB board chief, Najam Sethi and was attended by Director of Cricket Operations Haroon Rasheed, Director International Cricket Academy Mudassar Nazar, member governing board Mansoor Masood, and Quetta Gladiators team owner Nadeem Umar. A lot of topics were discussed future proceedings. The players will be given No-Objection Certificates for playing in two foreign leagues. Recently Pakistan players were seen lacking skills due to fitness so Sethi made a point to ask Mickey Arthus to keep a close eye on fitness regime during the New Zealand upcoming tour.
After the plight of Sri Lankan cricketers in 2009 in Pakistan, security issues have let no international team visiting the nation or rather stopped many players from playing the PSL in Pakistan. The board is positive on thinking that coming years will open a lot of more scopes for matches in Pakistan. The board has requested Cricket Australia and NewZealand Cricket Team to play the game in the nation.
In the recently concluded ICC meeting in Kolkata Najm Sethi has voiced to play bilateral series of India vs Pakistan soon and not to bring political rifts among the arch-rivals. Though BCCI has not paid any heed and contracts are signed partially. PCB has demanded a compensation amount of MoA from BCCI but BCCI has defended saying that half the amount has been spent due to security issues for playing in the terrorist dominating country.
Asia Cup is shifted from India and now will be played in UAE.
