The chase was very clinical from Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson. Alex Hales was out early in the innings as Harshal Patel trapped him lbw in the second over. From then on, Shikar and Kane controlled the game like masters, They started off at a steady pace and then started launching boundaries late when they were well settled.

By the end of the powerplay, SRH got to 51/1 and were well on course of the tall chase. After some quiet overs, Hyderabad reached 12th over with the score 112/1. From here on, they needed 76 runs from the last eight overs. It was from here on that they started changing gears.

Shikhar Dhawan then struck two sixes in the next over bowled by Nadeem. From there, SRH were in cruise mode and chased the total peacefully. Shikhar Dhawan scored 90* from 50 balls with nine fours and four sixes. Williamson at the other end remained not out on 83 in just 53 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes.

Earlier, Rishabh Pant humiliated the best bowling attack in the tournament. He carted boundaries all over the ground with the highlights being the reverse flicks over the fine leg and one-handed sixes over long-off. His innings was extraordinary and was unbeaten by the end. He remained not out on 128 in just 63 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes. The Pant Carnage landed Delhi to the total of 187.
