Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan and other cricketing family members mourned on the recent bomb blast incidents during a cricket match in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, where eight people were killed and 45 people were wounded.
According to the various news, that incident happened on last Friday midnight at Jalalabad’s Spinghar cricket stadium where many people were watching a cricket match between the two local teams.
Hedayatullah Zahir was the one who lost his life in that blast. He had organized that cricket match as a way to “demolish insurgency darkness with peace”.
Rashid Khan saddened on that incident and posted a sorrowful message on the social media. The 19-year-old wrote on his Twitter account, “You will be missed bro #RIP you did lots of hard work always tried to make Nengrahar shining City. Allah De Tolo shahedano ta janatona naseeb kre Aw Zakhmyano ta de rogh sehat pe dua yma,”

Later, Rashid told Telegraph, “If I’m, to be honest, there are times when I wonder whether it’s right on my part to be playing in such a high-profile T20 tournament, the IPL when innocents keep getting killed by the dozens. Kya main theek kar rahan hoon? (Am i doing the right thing?) I do ask myself…,”
“I pray that Allah has mercy on all of us, that some sense gets into the head of those who simply kill. Nobody knows why this painful cycle keeps happening. Bahut mayusi hoti hai. (It makes me sad.)”
Afghanistan cricketer Karim Sadiq was present in that venue and helped to rescue the wounded people.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief executive Shafiq Stanikzai highly criticized that incident as he wrote on his Twitter account, “I strongly condemn the attacks last night during a local cricket tournament in Jalalabad, Nangarhar. Cricket has been a source of happiness and pride for all Afghans, it has played a key role in bringing peace and uniting people. These attacks are against peace, unity, and humanity.”

Meanwhile, ICC Chief executive David Richardson told, “We are saddened to hear of the terrorist attack on a cricket match in Afghanistan and extend our thoughts and sympathy to the families of those killed and the wider cricket family there.”
A top UN official in Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto spoke on that incident, “I am outraged by this attack that used four bombs carefully calculated to kill and maim civilians watching a cricket match. This cold and brutal act can have no justification whatsoever; those responsible must be held accountable.”
