Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed bowled his first couple of overs in international cricket during the fifth ODI against Zimbabwe on Sunday. During the course of his first over, Sarfraz made an attempt to imitate the former India skipper MS Dhoni, who took his only ODI  wicket in an ICC Champions Trophy 2009 match against West Indies.

Sarfraz, who is a wicketkeeper-batsman, gave the keeping duties to Fakhar Zaman during his short spell. The 31-year-old tried to do an MS Dhoni, as his bowling action was similar to that of Dhoni.

In his illustrious international career, MS has managed to take just one wicket in his short bowling stint, which came during India’s ICC Champions Trophy match against West Indies in 2009.

With Fakhar Zaman now keeping, Ahmed bowled the 48th and 50th overs of the innings. While he conceded six runs in his first over, he got smashed for a huge six by Zimbabwean batsman Peter Moor in the last over of the match.

However, in the 5th ODI, some more records have been made as Imam-ul-Haq smashed his third century of the series and Zaman became the fastest batsman to surpass the tally of 1,000 ODI runs. Pakistan swept Zimbabwe 5-0 with a 131-run win in the fifth ODI on Sunday. Imam hit 110 off 105 balls, and Zaman scored 85 off 83 to reach the 1,000 mark in only his 18th ODI, with Pakistan posting yet another strong total of 364-4 after choosing to bat.

Zaman surpassed the record of 21 matches which was shared by five cricketers, including his teammate Babar Azam, who made 106 off 76. In a completely one-sided series, Pakistan won two matches by nine wickets and two by more than 200 runs before wrapping up the series on Sunday.
