Tino Best trolls Dawid Malan after he was dropped from the Lord’s Test

After some recent poor forms in the Test cricket, English top-order batsman Dawid Malan has been dropped from the second Test squad in the ongoing five-match home Test series against India, which will begin on this Thursday (August 9) at Lord’s. After the squad announcement, Windies pacer Tino Best trolled Malan on his social media account.

The 20-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Ollie Pope has earned his maiden international call-up for the upcoming Lord’s Test after replacing Dawid Malan, who has been dropped due to his recent poor form.

After the English team announcement for the upcoming Lord’s Test against India, the 36-year-old Windies pacer Tino Best has trolled Dawid Malan through his official Twitter account.

The Windies pacer posted, “Can’t wait to watch the 2nd Test @HomeOfCricket minus Malan finally the selectors saw my tweets @DGoughie #Wasplayingforhisgoodlooks”

Making his international debut in last year’s June, the 30-year-old Malan has played 15 Tests and 5 T20Is for England where the top-order left-handed batsman has scored 724 runs (average 27.84) and 250 runs (average 50) respectively. While his T20I performances are very impressive as he scored four half-centuries in just five games, his Test performance hasn’t run through the similar level. In his Test career, Malan has scored one century and six half-centuries in 26 innings.

Malan is hugely in the off-form in this year’s Test cricket. Playing 11 Test innings in this year, Malan has scored only 219 runs with the average of just 19.90. He has only hit two half-centuries and his best Test innings in this year is 62 against Australia at Sydney in early January.

Meanwhile, the Windies pacer Tino Best, who made his international cricket debut in May 2003, has played his last international game in January 2014. The right-arm pacer has played 25 Tests, 26 ODIs and 6 T20Is where he has taken 57, 34 and 6 wickets respectively.

In the present English County cricket, Malan plays for Middlesex while Best plays for Hampshire.
