Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was termed as ‘The Wall’ during his cricketing career as it was extremely tough to go through his defending skills for the bowlers all around the world. He has done everything for Indian cricket during his illustrious career and ended up with more than 24000 runs to his name.
However, Dravid has still picked a couple of current crop of bowlers who could’ve troubled him by going through his defense a number of times. He averaged 52.31 in Tests, the most respectable format in the game, which very few could only dream. Even after retiring, he is serving the Indian cricket by coaching the U19 and India A sides. He’s has worked with some best cricketers to the country already who are in line to make their debut at the highest level and one would hope that he continues to work for the betterment of the Indian cricketer by producing more talented cricketers.

Rahul Dravid, in a candid interview with ESPN Cricinfo, feels Kagiso Rabada and Bhuvneshwar Kumar would’ve troubled him more if he was still playing. Well, if the player of a stature of Dravid thinks that these two bowlers could’ve breached his defense, then certainly they possess some special talent and rightfully they lead the bowling attack for their respective teams.
Dravid though was effusive in praise of Bhuvi more and lauded him for his skills with the new ball. He also admitted that he was not able to play the incoming delivery during his playing days and India’s current best bowler would’ve easily troubled him.
The legendary batsman said, “I was not a great player of the incoming delivery and Bhuvi has a superb skill of bringing it back into the batsmen. So yes, if a wicket falls early and I was number 3, I would’ve got jitters while facing Bhuvi with a new ball.”
