Some of the recent reports have suggested that the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators [CoA] is going to review the Indian coaching staff led by Ravi Shastri after the conclusion of their England tour. India’s tour of England will come to an end on September, 11, the last day of the the fifth and final Test of the ongoing seires which starts from Friday. England has already sealed the series by taking an unassailable 3-1 lead.
CoA member Diana Edulji said that despite the fact that CoA is unwilling to get involved in the on-field activities, they will ‘definitely review the performance of the coaching staff’. As quoted in Hindustan Times, Edulji said, “We have consciously avoided getting involved in on-field activities and strongly feel that the team management and selectors are there to look into the performance of the players. But yes, we will definitely review the performance of the coaching staff when it comes up for a review. As you are aware, they are all on a one-year contract.”

The practice is for the team manager to file a report after a tour ends. However, Shastri has the calling shots on whether the current manager Sunil Subramanian will get an extension. Currently, the India support staff barring Shastri has been given a one-year contract.
However, Diana is expecting an ‘honest report’ from Subramanian as he is also expected to be ‘fair in his assessment’. She said, “I do get what you are trying to ask, but then, that is where the manager has to be honest to his role. The manager must file an honest report of whatever happened during the England tour. If you see black and then you decide to call it white, that doesn’t become white. I am sure he will be fair in his assessment.”
Despite the fact that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in the series with a tally of 544 runs at a stupendous average of 68, the visiting team has conceded an unassailable lead of 1-3 to the hosts after the 60-run defeat at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton. The fifth and final match will be played at Kennington Oval in London, starting September 7.
