After failing to win the second ODI against Windies at Visakhapatnam that was resulted in a tie as both teams scored 321 runs, Indian left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav pointed out the dew factor for the result.

With the help of Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 157 runs knock and Ambati Rayudu’s 73 runs knock, Indian managed to score 321/6 at the end of 50 overs.

In reply, the visiting side Windies also managed to score 321/7 at the end of 50 overs, thanks to Shai Hope’s 123* and Shimron Hetmyer’s 94-run knock.

Indian left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who was the best bowler for India in that match with the bowling figure of 10-0-67-3, claimed that the dew made it difficult for the Indian bowlers.

The 23-year-old said, “It was very difficult to bowl in the dew. The square was quick and the ball gets wet. It was difficult for a spinner. I was feeling uncomfortable gripping the ball.”

Kuldeep further added that they need to practise a lot on dew as these typed of things will always come in future cricket. Moreover, as once Windies were dominating against the Indian bowlers and they were in the better position of the game, Kuldeep is happy with the tie result.

He said, “These type of things (dew) will come in the future. We need to practise a lot. At one stage we were out of the game. So we’ve done a really good job as a bowling unit.”

While Shai Hope played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 123 runs off 134 balls (10 fours and 3 sixes) and secured a tie result with the boundary in the final ball of the match, Shimron Hetmyer also batted very well for the second time in this ODI series.

After hitting a fast century (106 off 78 balls) in the first ODI of the series at Guwahati, the 21-year-old left-handed batsman played another firing knock of 94 runs off just 64 balls (4 fours and 7 sixes) in the second ODI.

Praising Hetmyer’s batting effort, Kuldeep said, “Hetmyer played brilliantly. In the first game he took our bowlers on and today as well. It was very difficult to bowl to him due to dew. He was batting really well. We were trying to contain runs, but that didn’t happen.”
