After registering a dominating 8-wicket win over New Zealand in Napier, Team India must be aiming for a 2-0 lead in the ongoing 5-match series as they have arrived at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui for their 2nd ODI. Upon arrival, Team India received a traditional Māori welcome. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, was welcomed by the local Maori community, who are native people of New Zealand.

India will play 2nd and 3rd ODI at the same venue, Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. India riding on amazing performances by Shikhar Dhawan and Kuldeep Yadav, registered a thumping win in their 1st ODI at Napier to go 1-0 up in 5-match ODI series.
According to the recnet reports, Team India’s regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the last two ODIs and T20Is keeping in mind his workload. In Kohli’s absence, Rohit Sharma will take the captaincy reins.

The Indian bowling attack is in very good form, though Kohli still has to seriously look out for the third pacer while Jasprit Bumrah is not in the squad. While the other main pacers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are running in the good form, the regular spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are doing the excellent job in the middle overs, even outside the Asian soil.
The Indian top-order batsmen are in very good form at the recent time. Also, the middle-order batsmen have enough ODI experiences and they are ready to handle any situation.
On the other hand, the front-line Kiwi bowlers failed to pick-up quick wickets in the first ODI but they have also the abilities to dominate against any kind of team. The host side also needs to focus to strengthen their deepness in both the batting and bowling units.
