The self-proclaimed Universe Boss Chris Gayle was bought by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL 2018 auction after RCB had decided not to retain him. He had a memorable outing for KXIP in the last season with three half-centuries and a brilliant century against CSK. However, his inconsistent performance meant that his contribution went to waste. As KXIP failed to make it to the top four.

However, in this season of IPL. Gayle has decided to have as much fun as possible while helping KXIP in winning their maiden IPL title. It was only in 2014 when Punjab had managed to reach the IPL finals as they got defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that year.

Gayle’s partner-in-crime at the top, KL Rahul has termed the Windies cricketer the most mischievous player in the Punjab dressing room. The latter was in awe of the highly energetic Gayle and backs him to deliver the goods in IPL 2019.

Recently, Gayle had announced his arrival in KXIP camp and soon he started pulling the legs of his teammates. First on his target was his opening partner KL Rahul, on whom Gayle took a dig while he was drinking something from a cup and Gayle asked whether he was drinking coffee.

As per the quotes in Times Now, Rahul said,

“He is always up to mischief and tries to pull my legs. He does not seem like a senior player in the dressing room. But in fact, he is the naughtiest and most mischievous player in a dressing room. I have played with Gayle for quite a while. we had an opportunity to bat together for a few years in RCB and he considered me as a 21-year-old boy.”

Kings XI Punjab will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2019 opening match on March 25 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
