The upcoming news from Eden Gardens, Kolkata is pretty delightful for cricket fans, as the sun eventually came out after two days of persistent rain in Kolkata on Thursday morning. The historic stadium is all set to host the 2nd ODI of the 5-ODI match series between India and Australia on September 21 (Thursday).

Amidst the sunshine, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Sourav Ganguly spent some time inspecting the pitch with local curator Sujan Mukherjee. As per the quotes of IANS, he said, “I am satisfied with the wicket. Even if it rains, there won’t be any problem.”

Talking about the wicket, CAB official revealed, “It will be a sporting wicket. There will be something in it for everyone.”

Despite the fact that that cricketers did not take the field for a full practice session, Indian team management which comprise of skipper Virat Kohli, chief coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun examined the surface which was under covers for the last 48 hours.
