With only 12 matches remaining in the league Stage of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the tournament is running towards its business with the expectations of a lot of excitement on the way. However, almost all the teams are in contention for a spot to make it to the final four. Hence, from now on, every match has its own importance as it will lead to various permutations and combinations.

With no teams eliminated and none having qualified for the playoffs yet, these 12 games can become virtual knockouts.

There are multiple combinations still possible based on the results of the remaining games, so it is difficult to predict the exact outcome. But keeping in mind form, conditions, and venue, these are the most plausible qualification scenarios that emerge for the 8 teams:

#8 Chennai Super Kings (CSK)  – 12 matches and 16 points

With 8 wins in 12 matches, CSK is still leading the charts, but their qualification can’t be guaranteed yet. If CSK loses their remaining two matches against DC and KXIP, Chennai might fail to reach the playoffs. Delhi and Mumbai may grab the top two positions and KXIP and SRH may well end with 16 points but will beat CSK on the net run rate (CSK have a negative NRR).

However, if CSK beat either Delhi or Punjab, they will certainly qualify at the advantageous top two positions.
