In the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) the flamboyant all-rounder, Andre Rusell has been the center of attraction for all the fan due to his ability to hit the sixes at will. He gave the best possible testimony of the same during the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. In a must-win match for KKR, Russell, Lynn, and Gill took apart the MI bowling attack and put on 232 runs on board.
Russell got the Man of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 80* which was studded with 8 sixes. Earlier, Shubman Gill (76 in 45 balls) and Chris Lynn (54 in 29 balls) had given KKR an amazing start by adding 96 runs in first 10 overs. Then Russell took over as he changed the course of innings in just 40 balls. This match was also special for the Jamaican, as his wife Jassym was also present at the Eden Gardens to watch the carnage of her husband.

Ahead of the game, Russell revealed that the environment of the KKR team was unhealthy, as the bad decisions made by them was the reason behind KKR’s six straight defeats. He also blamed the weak bowling lineup of KKR, which, in his opinions couldn’t even contain a weaker batting lineup of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their previous match.

In the video, Russell said, “It’s an emotional feeling. It was the last game of the season in Kolkata. We knew that we had to leave the fans who have been giving us great support over the last six days with a bang. We surely did, won by 34 runs.” Replying to the same, Jassym said, “It felt good. I knew you were going to do that because today is the last match in this ground (Eden Gardens). I expected that from you. I really had my heart in my hands when you were hitting those big sixes.”
