IPL 2019: Jadeja And Du Plessis Started Training Ahead Of Delhi Clash

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have finally got their veterans back ahead of their next Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Chepauk. Mumbai Indians (MI) handed CSK their first defeat at home by 46 runs. The men in yellow are currently on a 4-day break and will get back into action on Wednesday.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen joining the practice sessions as CSK players trained in full swing ahead of the DC clash. Jadeja missed the game against MI due to illness. However, he has managed to get recovered in time and most probably to have recovered in time and is expected to return to the playing XI against DC. But their remain doubts over MS Dhoni’s availability as the CSK skipper was not seen in training.

Dhoni has already missed two games in the IPL 2019 this season due to back spasm and illness and in both the game, CSK suffered a loss. The defending champions have already qualified for the playoffs and will be looking to consolidate top position by defeating Delhi, who are currently on an unbeaten streak in their last three games and have already booked a playoffs spot.

Faf du Plessis scored a fifty

Apart from Jadeja, South African skipper, Faf du Plessis, who also missed the game against Mumbai due to fever was also seen training and is likely to be available for the home game. Local lad Narayan Jagadeesan also spent some time in the nets after some keeping drills. He might get his first game for CSK on Wednesday.

Ambati Rayudu had kept wickets for CSK in Dhoni’s absence against MI and might be replaced by Jagadeesan if Dhoni is deemed unfit for the match against DC. CSK will be aiming to finish in top two after becoming the first team to qualify for the playoffs to get two shots at booking a spot in the finals.
