Exactly seven years ago, Eoin Morgan scored his fourth ODI hundred, third one for England, 107* (101), with the help of eight fours & a six against Pakistan at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. Morgan came in to bat when Paul Collingwood was had to return back to the pavilion due to migraine, at 3-59 in the 15th over.

England, who were very watchful from the start continued in the same fashion. At the halfway mark, the score was 96-3. In the 27th over, Shahid Afridi got rid of Ian Bell (28), which resulted in Collingwood resuming his innings. Until then, Morgan had already settled his nerves.

He completed his half-century off 58 balls in the 37th over. With 10 overs remaining, England’s score had reached 178-4. A platform was set for the batsmen to go all guns blazing in the death overs.

With a six and four off Saeed Ajmal in the ultimate over, Morgan completed his century off 97 balls. England ended up scoring 256-6 in 50 overs. Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann picked up three wickets apiece as Pakistan were bundled out for 135 in 37 overs. Morgan was adjourned the ‘Man of the Match’. It was his fifth such award in ODI cricket. England had won the five-match ODI series 3-2.
