The 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) was seen a couple of brilliant performances from a couple of players from all the teams. Andre Russell was one of those performers who has showcased his talents not a single or twice but many times. He saved Kolkata Knight Riders many times from a sure losing position. He amassed 510 runs in 13 innings with the strike-rate of 204.82 and an average of 56.67. However, his formidable form has attracted the Big Bash League (BBL) teams as well for the upcoming BBL.

Like the Indian Premier League (IPL), BBL is also a popular league in Australia. Like IPL, BBL also features some International players. Moreover, Cricket Australia (CA) has also decided to allow the clubs to sign up to six foreign players throughout the BBL. However, only two overseas players can be added in the playing XI and the 18-man squad. While, on the other hand, four overseas players are allowed in the playing XI and a franchise can have a maximum of eight foreign players in the 23-member squad.

However, the budget is huge for foreign players. It was reported earlier this week that veteran AB de Villiers was signed by a BBL club at a whopping price of A$ 350,000. But he has pulled out his name and according to ESPNCricinfo, Andre Russell is another big name who could be added in the league. It would be interesting to see if Russell would demand the same amount and if CA remains like it. Only time would tell which team will get the service of the dangerous all-rounder.
