Former India skipper, MS Dhoni has been on a sabbatical from cricket ever since the Men in Blue lost the semi-final of the ICC World Cup against New Zealand at Old Trafford by 18 runs. The entire cricketing fraternity was expecting to hear about the retirement announcement but it is yet to come. MS has missed three series that India have played after the showpiece event which left everyone clueless about his future.

While the world is spending sleepless nights over Dhoni’s future plans, he is enjoying his time away from cricket. He has been spotted trying his hands in various sports during his break from international cricket and was recently seen playing billiards along with Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA).

At the JSCA, MS also met the board’s one of the oldest pitch curators Basu Da and posed for pictures with him. Basu Da has seen the likes of Dhoni, Varun Aaron and other cricketers from the state to go on to play for the country. Speaking to Republic TV, Sarangi said he shares a strong bond with Basu Da who lives in the MLA’s constituency. He was also present during the photo session with Dhoni and Basu Da.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir recently criticized MS Dhoni for “picking and choosing series” and advised the selectors to be clear about Dhoni’s future plans. During the sideline of an event in Delhi, Gautam said, “Selectors should speak to him about his future plans.”
