Cricket has often been known as a gentlemen’s game and every now and then cricketers prove the saying with their actions on the field.
During the 4th ODI of the 5-match series between India and Australia in Bengaluru, Australian opener proved that why cricket is a gentlemen’s game. In the 28th over of the match, when Hardik Pandya lost the control of the ball during his delivery stride, the ball went on to the pitch and there was no fielder to pick the ball with Pandya going back to take the run-up.
In that situation, Warner went on to the ball to pick it and later on, thrown it to Hardik. It was a great display of sportsmanship from Warner as he could’ve left the ball their itself, but it could’ve wasted the time. However, the ball was called dead by the umpire.
Later on, Warner went on to score a century on his 100th ODI. Even the visitors have got a great start to the match as they got the opening partnership of 231 runs but after the dismissal of the southpaw, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith also got dismissed in next couple of overs. From the situation of 231/0, they came down to 237/3.
