Stunning bowling steered New Zealand to a 14-run win in the third Twenty20 International against England in Nelson on Tuesday. With this win, they went 2-1 up in the series. While chasing to New Zealand’s 180, England were doing well at 139 for two in the 15th over before a sudden fall of wickets reduced them to 166 for seven at the end.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first where Colin de Grandhomme scored 55 and Martin Guptill scored 33. Dawid Malan smashed 55 for England and James Vince added 49 before New Zealand bounced back with Lockie Ferguson and Blair Tickner both picking up two for 25.

“It’s a good surface, a touch on the dry side and hopefully the spinners will come into the play later on,” New Zealand captain Tim Southee said.

Earlier England won the toss for the first two matches where Eoin Morgan elected to bowl first and got mixed results, winning the first game by seven wickets while losing the second one by 21 runs. England had made two changes with Tom Banton in for opener Jonny Bairstow and Matt Parkinson replacing Chris Jordan in the next game. New Zealand changed one player as well.
