It might be too early to say but by the looks of him, Glenn Maxwell has turned into a more matured person on the cricket field since he has been given the reigns of Kings XI Punjab. At 28, Maxwell had no experience of captaining a side in competitive cricket before this tournament. But leading a side can change the world for you. Believe me, it does!

Not that Maxwell has changed his style of batting post him becoming the captain. He still bats with the same flair an freedom. Not that he stands in slips now. He is still seen saving the boundaries for the Kings XI Punjab. But there is this sense of responsibility, which is perhaps visible on his face. A sense of reliability which ensures the rest of the squad that your captain is here to marshal you and eventually finish matches for you.

Having come in to bat at 78-2 in 8.1 overs today, Maxwell was not under any sort of pressure, credit to which should go to Hashim Amla and Manan Vohra. The duo provided Kings XI with the best of possible starts. Maxwell remained not out till the end and finished on 43* (22 balls), which was comprised of three fours and four sixes.

Apart from the wins, what Kings XI have also done well in both of these matches is the way of winning. They defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by four wickets and completed the chase in 19 overs. Improving from their first match, they secured an eight-wicket victory over the Royal Challengers today. In addition to the winning points, the fact that the victory came in the 15th over will add to their net run rate as well.
