Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his brilliant talks on Twitter — sometimes controversial and funny at other times. Recently, one of his fans witnessed the funny side of him after asking him a question related to the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. The veteran off-spinner will play for Delhi Capitals (DC) this season after a two-year tenure with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) that he led but with little success.

It had although started at a completely different situation. Ravichandran Ashwin asked Cheteshwar Pujara about the wicket of the second ODI between India and Australia in Rajkot as it’s the home ground of the Saurashtra batsman. He asked Pujara about the par score on the pitch at the venue as well. He also asked him whether a “road roller” was used on the wicket or not.

However, before Ashwin got any reply from Pujara, one fan intervened. Om Lal Mehta asked Ashwin and it was: “How many retweets for a signed @DelhiCapitals jersey this IPL??!!”

Ashwin did not ignore the question and replied in a funny tone that he would let Mehta know once he got hold of his own jersey. The fan was okay with that and said he would pick it personally from the spinner and save the latter the courier charges as well.

Last November, Kings XI Punjab traded Ravichandran Ashwin with Delhi Capitals for Rs 1.5 crore and Karnataka spinner Jagadeesha Suchith. Ashwin did well for the Kings as a bowler and picked 25 wickets in 28 games, but failed to do well as a captain.

The Tamil Nadu cricketer, who will join Yorkshire post IPL, has also played for Rising Pune Supergiant earlier. However, his best moments came for Chennai Super Kings under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni between 2009 and 2015 ut later he was bought by other franchises.
