The New Zealand opener, Martin Guptill has become an overnight internet sensation for uttering a cuss word in Hindi when the Indian leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal caught him unaware after the end of the second T20I match between India and New Zealand at the Eden Park in Auckland. The video clip went viral in seconds as many shared the same on various social media sites.

The incident took place after the players were getting together for some hijinks on the ground after India had defeated the home side to go 2-0 up in the five-match series. Guptill was talking to Rohit Sharma when Star Sports presenter Jatin Sapru was approaching Guptill for a sound byte and Chahal intervened by taking the mic from Sapru, which was, in fact, live on-air and went to the Kiwi opener and asked him what’s up.

Guptill uttered the Hindi cuss word by saying, “Kya be G****”. Twitterati and Indian fans made a big issue of Guptill’s stupidity and made fun of being in denial of understanding the meaning of the cuss word. Rohit Sharma is seen in the video clip, covering his mouth showing a shocked reaction, while Chahal says to Guptill that the mic was on.

Meanwhile, it seems Chahal was not ready to give up on pulling Guptill’s leg, as in the hotel, he tempted  him to utter the word again. Guptill, this time, is visibly embarrassed by the ruckus he caused due to his mistake and tries to sidetrack the issue, despite Chahal provoking him time and again.

A Twitter user shared the video, which the Indian leggie shared on his Instagram story. Here is the video of the same:

Meanwhile, Man of the Match KL Rahul’s amazing anchored knock helped India chase down a below-par total of 133 runs in the second T20I match in Auckland, after the Men in Blue had lost both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli cheaply. He, along with previous match’s hero Shreyas Iyer added more than 80 runs and took the team past the finishing line. Shivam Dube finished the game with a six to win the match and both the teams will now meet in the third encounter in Hamilton on January 29.
