On day 2 of the ongoing three-day practice game at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, it looked like, the premier Indain pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has got his form back. He caught the attention of the fans and the experts with his brilliant inswinger to get rid of Finn Allen on Day 2 of the warm-up match.
It was in the 30th over of the match when Bumrah bowled a beautiful delivery on the 5th stump line and Allen, who failed to read the line of the ball, left it alone. Then came the surprise to the batsman, as the ball jagged back to hit the stumps and the off-stump did a cartwheel. It was one of those deliveries, which a lot of bowlers dream to bowl at least once. Before Allen, Bumrah also dismissed Will Young when he edged it to the wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant.

On the first day, New Zealand fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn turned out to be made life difficult for the visitors removing opener Prithvi Shaw for a four-ball-duck in the first over itself. Shaw’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal (1) was the second wicket to fall while Shubman Gill also fell for a golden duck to leave the Indians in deep trouble at 5/3. However, the ever-reliant Cheteshwar Pujara made a crucial partnership of 195 runs with Hanuma Vihari for the 5th wicket which saved India from a huge embarrassment.

In recent times, Bumrah’s form has been a concern for the Indain team management as he went wicketless in the recently-concluded ODI series where the visitors were whitewashed 3-0 by New Zealand. However, Bumrah got back to wicket-taking ways as soon as he began the proceeding with the new red ball on Saturday.
After being bowled out for 263 on the first day, Indian bowlers curtailed New Zealand XI with an exhibition of high-quality fast bowling. The hosts were bundled out for 235 in 74.2 overs but Bumrah (2/18 in 11 overs) and Shami (3/17 in 10 overs) used the conditions well alongside Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini.
