The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma played a quick-fire 16-ball 28 on Sunday against Pakistan in a Super 4 clash at the Asia Cup. The Indian cricket team captain then faltered a bit in rotating the Indian bowlers as the men in lost the match which went into the last over. However, India ultimately failed to defend a 181-run total against Pakistan.

After the match, Rohit Sharma could be seen meeting fans and spectators outside the Dubai International Stadium. One of the fans, kept holding on to Rohit’s hand, leading to the India captain saying: “Arey Haath Toh Choro”. As Rohit was joining the team member, soon after that another fan was heard demanding a cup this time around for Team India anyhow.

Talking about the match, former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli looked in premier batting form as he showcased his class with the bat in hand against Pakistan. During India’s first Super 4 tie at the Asia Cup 2022, the former skipper scored a 44-ball 60 which was also his second consecutive fifty-plus score in the ongoing tournament. Indian may have lost the game by 5 wickets, but fans and experts are delighted to see the ace Indian batter getting his batting mojo back.

Kohli’s knock helped India set Pakistan a challenging 182-run target. After the openers were back in the hut, it was the former skipper who shouldered the innings while the middle-order kept on tumbling.

Chasing a tough target of 182, the ever-dependable Mohammed Rizwan (71 off 51 balls) anchored the Pakistan innings, but it was left-handed batter Nawaz, known more for his orthodox left-arm spin, who played the decisive knock of the match. it all ended when Bhuvneshwar gave away 19 runs in the 19th over with only seven left off Arshdeep’s final over which Pakistan got with a ball to spare.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field first. Mohammed Hasnain came in place of Shahnawaz Dahani, who was ruled out of the contest with a side strain. On the other hand, India had a total of 3 changes – out of which 2 were forced. Ravindra Jadeja is out of the tournament due to a knee injury while Avesh Khan is down with a fever. Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the XI, with the team management needing a southpaw like Rishabh Pant.
