During the 36th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils’ Glenn Maxwell walked back to the pavilion in the most hapless ways.

Shreyas Iyer, captain of Delhi Daredevils, had won the toss and chose to bat. Delhi Daredevils had included Naman Ojha and Daniel Christian into their playing eleven in place of Colin Munro and Shahbaz Nadeem. In something which came as a relief for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his way back in the team in place of Basil Thampi.

Maxwell was found short of the crease.

The Daredevils had sent in Glenn Maxwell to partner Prithvi Shaw at the top of the order. Their ploy to promote Maxwell in the batting order didn’t work as per the plan as Maxwell was dismissed in the second over itself.

On the fourth delivery of the second over, Shaw played a Sandeep Sharma delivery down the ground. The ball touched the bowlers’ fingertips, ricocheting from his toes to the stumps. Whilst all this happened, Maxwell was a tad slow to react and reach back to his crease. He ended up scoring 2 (3).
