The third ODI of South Africa’s tour of West Indies in 2005 at Barbados saw a thrilling climax to the extent that the home team couldn’t score four runs in six balls. Not only South Africa won the match by 1 run, they also gained an unassailable 3-0 lead over the hosts in the five-match ODI series.
Having lost the first two ODIs at Jamaica, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the then West Indian captain, won the toss and chose to field. Boeta Dippenaar scored his second ODI hundred, 123 (129), with the help of 12 fours. South Africa ended up scoring 284-6 in 50 overs.
