Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra recently weighed in on the dismissal of Rajasthan Royals’ star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal in their recent clash against Delhi Capitals. In pursuit of a daunting target of 222 runs against DC, RR faced an early setback as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal departed for a mere four runs off two deliveries.

After hitting a boundary off the first delivery, Jaiswal attempted another aggressive shot, only to find himself caught by Axar Patel. Reflecting on Jaiswal’s dismissal, Aakash Chopra highlighted the recurring pattern of his dismissals to left-arm pacers and short balls.

“When it came to the run chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to a left-arm pacer once again. This wasn’t the first time he got dismissed to a short ball. He has encountered similar dismissals before. It was a similar shot, and he was caught in front of the wickets,” Aakash Chopra shared on his YouTube channel.

Aakash Chopra continued his analysis, noting the brief yet impactful contributions from other RR batsmen. Buttler, despite getting a lifeline, was eventually dismissed by Axar Patel. Riyan Parag showed promise with a few good shots but fell victim to Rasikh Salam’s deceptive slower delivery, which seemed to impede RR’s momentum.

Delving into the standout performance of RR skipper Sanju Samson, Aakash Chopra praised his exceptional batting display during the chase. Samson’s explosive innings of 86 runs off just 46 deliveries appeared poised for a century until his dismissal disrupted RR’s momentum.

“Sanju Samson was relentless at one end. His batting was exceptional. I thought he would reach a century. Although he fell short, being dismissed by Mukesh Kumar after scoring 86 off 46 balls, his batting was outstanding. He timed the ball impeccably. Shubham Dubey also showed promising batting form for a brief period,” Aakash Chopra concluded, acknowledging the commendable efforts of RR’s key players despite the eventual loss.
