In the aftermath of Pakistan’s first win over India in the history of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s interior minister has made a shocking and controversial claim. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, Interior Minister of Pakistan, has termed Pakistan’s win over India is a “victory of Islam.” Furthermore, Minister Rasheed claimed that all Muslims throughout the world were supporting Pakistan during the match.
Pakistan managed to register a dominating win, defeating India by 10 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium in the UAE. Taking to Twitter on Monday, the minister had said in a video, “Pakistan’s triumph against India is a victory of Islam. All Muslims throughout the world are rejoicing.”

Sharing the video of the Pakistan Minister, CNN News18 tweeted: “After Pakistan’s first-ever victory against India in the World Cup in 13 attempts, Pakistan Minister Sheikh Rasheed describes Pakistan’s victory against India in the T20 WC match as a “victory of Islam.”

Prior to the match, the minister had stated that the much-awaited game against India was the true T20 World Cup final for Pakistan. Praying for his team’s victory, Rasheed had said, “Today’s match has a different level of excitement than any previous match in the World Cup.”

However, former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra has found a hilarious way of trolling the Pakistan minster by acknowledging that he has never seen the man playing cricket. Chopra tweeted, “Don’t take him seriously. He says that it’s the first #IndvPak game that he couldn’t play on the field. I know a lot of Pakistan cricketers…never seen this one with bat-ball in hand”.
