Former India player turned commentator Aakash Chopra has praised the Indian bowlers for bouncing back well in the second T20I against New Zealand as well. He also added that India pegged the visitors back by taking important wickets after being taken to the cleaners in the first three overs of the powerplay as well.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Tim Seifert was back and I feel Devon Conway’s days are numbered because he did score 18 runs in the first over, but then he got out. 43 runs were scored in the first three, but wickets fell after that. “He picks up a wicket as soon as he comes. He has dismissed Devon Conway four times in four matches. Tim Seifert was playing well at the other end, and Varun Chakaravarthy came and got him out. So it was powerplay for the first three overs and only play was left after that. The power had finished,” he further added.
However, Aakash Chopra also stated that Arshdeep Singh (0/53 in 4 overs) proved extremely expensive in the second T20I against New Zealand as well.

“Of course, Rachin Ravindra played well after that, and Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner also played well for some time. No one scored a fifty, but the team went beyond 200. Arshdeep got hit a lot this time. He got hit in his first two overs and the last over. He completed his half-century,” he said.
“Harshit Rana bowled well. India used seven bowlers. Shivam Dube, interestingly enough, amongst pacers has the second-most (third-most) wickets (for India) since the 2024 T20 World Cup. He bowled a slower one to get a wicket. Harshit also got a wicket with a slower one. New Zealand looked slightly reckless, with nobody kicking on to play a big innings,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
