According to former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will break their back to buy the services of Rahul Chahar in the mega auction. RCB has retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj for the upcoming seasons. After releasing star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, the side will be keen on filling in his place. Chopra reckons that Chahal might not make it to the auction and in that case, Chahar will be instrumental for the team at their home ground Chinnaswamy stadium.
During a QnA session on his Youtube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “RCB will not get Rashid, they can forget about that. Instead, they will go after Rahul Chahar, big time. No spinners apart from leg spinners work at the Chinnaswamy stadium. He also bowls a lot quicker in the air. Ravi Bishnoi is also an option, but I’m thinking Rahul Chahar, will break the bank for him. Chahal might not make it to the auctions.”

Virat Kohli had announced that he would not lead the team in the upcoming editions of the tournament. Owing to this the three-time IPL finalists are in search of a potential name to lead the team. According to Chopra West Indies all-rounder, Jason Holder is a good alternative for captaincy for the RCB.
Talking about the same, Aakash Chopra said, “For RCB, Jason Holder is also an option for captaincy. They need to buy a new captain and it could be Holder. When I think about the pitch over there and other things, I think Holder could be a valuable player. He does well in all the teams.”
IPL 2022 will also be witnessing the inclusion of two new franchises. Chopra opened on the probable captaincy options for the new entrants.

Aakash Chopra said, “Teams ideally go towards Indian captains, so the obvious captaincy candidates for the two new teams are KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. But KL Rahul and Warner are also a possibility. Apart from them, I don’t see anybody. Don’t see teams picking Ishan Kishan or R Ashwin for captaincy.”
