Former Indian batter, Aakash Chopra reckons that a big problem with Sanju Samson has been that the RR skipper has often started the season well and he has failed to make it a big campaign. Samson started the season well with a fifty and then his scores were inconsistent in the IPL 2023 campaign. While the RR skipper showed some form in the games against SRH and KKR, he failed once again with the bat against RCB.

In IPL 2023, Sanju Samson has scored 360 runs from 13 games this season. Speaking ahead of the PBKS vs RR match on his YouTube channel, as quoted by Sportskeeda, Chopra urged the Royals’ top three to fire after their poor outing against RCB in the last game. The former cricketer then said that Samson will need to score a few runs in the match as he has a tendency to taper off after starting the season well.

In the latest video on his Youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra said, “Yashasvi – one more knock. Jos Buttler has been absolutely cold in the last two or three matches. He has been dismissed for zero twice. So Yashasvi and Buttler should score runs. Sanju Samson should score a few runs because you always start the season well and then taper off. That has been a problem.”

Chopra also said he could see Trent Boult playing in the match. However, the former cricketer said that he hopes RR will go with more than five bowling options in the match, especially with the Impact Player rule in place.

Elaborating the same, Aakash Chopra said, “In bowling, I see Trent Boult playing here because it should swing here. If Rajasthan go with five bowlers once again, I will once again say that it is paralysis by analysis. If you have the Impact Player rule and you still have only five bowling options, it means you have missed a trick.”
