In a lighthearted remark, Aakash Chopra jokingly commented on the contrasting performances of Travis Head in Australia’s second innings of the WTC final against India at The Oval. Head, who played a sensational knock of 163 runs in the first innings, struggled to find his rhythm on the third day of the match.

Chopra playfully suggested that someone else seemed to have taken the field wearing Travis Head’s mask during the second innings. The former cricketer highlighted the noticeable difference in Head’s approach, stating that he appeared to be batting as if the conditions were extremely challenging.

“Travis Head’s innings was very interesting. The guy scored 160-odd runs in the first innings. He was batting in the second innings as though batting had become extremely difficult, that he couldn’t understand what was required to be done. Every bowler was bowling a bouncer. When you were driving the spinner, the ball was going behind the wickets,” Aakash Chopra commented on his YouTube channel, as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Chopra further described Head’s performance on the third day of the match as ordinary. Despite being dropped early in his innings and having a relatively short stay at the crease, the contrast between his dominant display in the first innings and his struggles in the second innings was striking.

“It seemed like someone had come to bat wearing Travis Head’s mask in the second innings. Very rarely do you see a player dominate like that in the first innings and then struggle to bat at all in the second innings,” Aakash Chopra humorously observed.

As the WTC final continues to unfold, the performances of players like Travis Head provide intriguing talking points and keep fans engaged in the match.
