Aakash Chopra Replies To Arjuna Ranatunga On Dhawan’s Captaincy

India’s Squad for this Sri Lankan tour: Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Vice-captain), Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana, Ishan Kishan (Wicket-keeper), Sanju Samson (Wicket-keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, K Gowtham, Krunal Pandya.

After declaring this squad, Sri Lanka’s former world cup winning skipper, Arjuna Ranatunga said that choosing Shikhar Dhawan as a captain is a disrespectful act. According to him, India showed a kind of disrespect by choosing another skipper instead of Virat Kohli.

Ranatunga had said, “Dhawan-led India’s team tour of SL is an insult to Sri Lankan cricket.” On the other hand, the former Indian opener, Aakaksh Chopra slammed him back with a harsh reply as he said, ” Afghanistan doesn’t have to play T20 WC qualifier, SL have to.” Hence, fans on Twitter reacted strongly to this conversation between both cricketers.
