Former India player turned veteran commentator Aakash Chopra has shared a game plan to trap Sahibzada Farhan in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Pakistan. He added that the Pakistan opener doesn’t score any runs on the off side between cover and third man as well. However, Team India will take on Pakistan in a T20 World Cup 2026 Group A game in Colombo on Sunday, February 15 as well.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Let’s see how you can trap Sahibzada Farhan. There is no doubt that Sahibzada Farhan hits sixes. However, the thing that has gotten hidden is where the ball was bowled when he was absolutely quiet. He goes quiet against everyone in that area. He makes a solid base, opens up his body a little, and hits very well on the leg side.”

“So where should you bowl to him? The game plan for him will be where he doesn’t score runs at all. He doesn’t score runs in the point and third man region. He neither plays drives towards cover nor does he play the cut that well. Whoever has bowled in that channel, he has been absolutely quiet. So you need to actually bowl to him there, slightly wider,” he further added.

However, Aakash Chopra also added that Babar Azam struggles to score runs against deliveries in the slot and slightly shorter length balls as well.

“Someone was joking that the game plan against Babar Azam should be not to dismiss him. We are not going to go down that route. His strike rate is almost a run-a-ball in the slot and if you go slightly back, the strike rate goes below a run-a-ball,” he said.

“He used to drive very well. That fluency is not being seen. A slight timidity is being seen. The runs he scored against USA in a Harmeet Singh over, there was no shot off the front foot. All shots against spin were against short balls, where he went on the back foot and played pulls and cuts. So if you are a spinner, keep the ball absolutely full and don’t bowl short,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
