India established their largest-ever winning margin by runs against England in Rajkot, seizing a 2-1 lead in the ongoing Test series. The last Test witnessed a complete domination by the home team, with a crushing 434-run victory over England, largely attributed to India’s formidable bowling attack.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra didn’t mince words in criticizing England’s batting performance. He particularly highlighted Mark Wood’s aggressive yet brief resistance in the face of India’s relentless bowling assault. Wood’s quickfire 33 runs off 15 deliveries provided a silver lining in an otherwise feeble batting display.

Aakash Chopra expressed his disappointment, stating, “Mark Wood scored 33 runs at the end or else this team wouldn’t have even scored 100. You couldn’t bat 50 overs. You didn’t play one-and-a-half sessions. We are on daily wages, take a little care of us. We only get paid for the number of days we work. This wasn’t a 40-overs pitch. This was a much better surface, and England actually let themselves down very badly,” as he shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel.

Key dismissals, including those of Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow, underscored England’s batting struggles. India’s resounding victory not only underscored their supremacy but also exposed England’s inadequacies in adapting to challenging conditions.

Ravindra Jadeja, playing at his home ground, received the Man of the Match award for his impactful century in the first innings and a five-wicket haul in the fourth innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, with his second double-hundred of the series, emerged as the highest run-scorer with 545 runs. As the teams move to Ranchi, India aims to sustain their momentum and secure the series.
